Closed cell polyethylene backing rod
Cellrod is a closed cell polyethylene foam cord, nonabsorbent and rot proof. Cellrod holds in position between both sides of the joint to help with tooling of the sealant and improve sealant contact with joint side to facilitate good adhesion.

Cellrod enables the correct width to depth ratio of the sealing slot to be maintained and provides a firm backing for the sealant to be tooled.
The use of Cellrod will also act as a bond breaker at the base of the joint thus preventing three sided adhesion and the accompanying additional stress during joint movement.
Cellrod cords are available in the following diameters (6, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40, 50 and 60 mm).
Store under cover away from heat sources.
- Cellrod is tested in accordance with ASTM C1330, Type C and ASTM D5249, Type 3.
