Hydrocon R3
Cement hydration controlling admixture
Hydrocon R3 is a liquid admixture formulated from selected polymers specially designed to delay the setting time by controlling the hydration process of Portland cement and other cementitious materials. This effect can be used to keep concrete mixes workable up to 3 days.

Hydrocon R3 is available in 19 litre as well as 1,041 litre containers. Bulk supply in tanker trucks is also available upon request.
Hydrocon R3 has a minimum shelf life of 12 months from date of manufacture if stored properly in its original unopened packing at temperatures between 2oC and 50oC.
The recommended dosage of Hydrocon R3 is between 163 to 8000 ml per per 100 kg of cementitious materials, including GGBFS, PFA or micro-silica. Actual dosage depends on the desired retardation.
Representative trials should first be conducted to determine the optimum dosage of Hydrocon R3 to meet the performance requirements by using the materials and conditions in actual use.
Hydrocon R3 complies with the requirements of Specification for Chemical Admixture for Concrete ASTM C494 as a Type B and D admixture.
