Epoxy-based primer
Strongcoat Primer is a two-pack, solvent-free epoxy-based primer for use with the DCP range of surface coatings and
toppings.
Strongcoat Primer is used as a prime coat to aid improving adhesion of subsequent epoxy layers. One or two coats
should be applied depending on the texture, porosity and evenness of the surface being primed.
Strongcoat Primer is applied at a coverage rate of 180 - 225 ft²/US gal (4 - 5 m²/kg) to achieve a thickness of approximately 7 to 9 mils (175 to 225 microns). Depending on the state of the substrate, a second coat may be required.
Note: Coverage figures will vary according to the texture, porosity and evenness of the surface on which the Strongcoat Primer is being applied.
Strongcoat Primer is available in the following kits:
- 4.66 US gal (Part A: 2.81 US gal, Part B: 1.85 US gal).
- 18.65 US gal (Part A: 11.24 US gal, Part B: 7.41 US gal).
Store at temperatures between 40oF and 86oF (5oC and 30oC).
Approximately 24 months if stored in unopened containers and under good conditions.
