Task at Hand

ACWA Power is developing a new 485 MW (net) gas-fired Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant, known as the 'ACWA Power Zarqa CCGT Project' within the existing landholding of the Hussein Thermal Power Station (HTPS), located in Zarqa, Jordan. The project will provide a much cleaner energy source than the previous HTPS plant and at a much improved operational efficiency. In order to build the plant, the project requested an extremely high strength grouting material to be used in this project which would provide a compressive strength that exceeds 50 MPa after 24 hours only.

DCP SOLUTION

Out of several potential suppliers, DCP was the only company that submitted a product that fulfilled this tough requirement and got the approval for Flo-Grout BP800 that exceeds 50 MPa after 24 hours only to be used in this project. Flo-Grout BP800 is a pre-mixed, pre-packed, high strength, chloride- and hydrogen-free cementitious grout. Flo-Grout BP800 is a compound of cement, selected additives, well-graded fillers, and non-reactive aggregates designed to give excellent flow properties, shrinkage compensation, and high compressive strength.
