DCP Qatar Holds Seminar on "Repair & Protection of Concrete Structures"

DCP Qatar held a presentation on “Repair & Protection of Concrete Structures” at The Westin Doha Hotel & Spa, Doha, Qatar, on Monday 4/12/ 2017.

The presentation focused on the importance of following a systematic approach for any concrete repair or protection work. This was highlighted through two case studies; the first case study took participants through the repairing process of a hospital after a major fire damaged the 13-story building while it was under construction leaving behind over 18,000 m2 of severe structural defections, where shotcrete technology was used to restore the building.

The second case study highlighted the ongoing anti-carbonation concrete protection work of the New Orbital Highway and Truck Route (Contract 3) that connects Mesaieed Industrial Area and New Port Projects to Salwa Road in Qatar and includes 56 km of roadwork as well as five main interchanges with over 700,000 m2 of exposed concrete to be protected.

The seminar was a great success with about 120 people attending and representing government bodies, NGOs, contracting companies, engineering consulting and design firms.
