Bituproof 12
General purpose fiber reinforced rubberized bitumen emulsion (Formerly known as Setcrete 12)
Bituproof 12 is a dark brown emulsified bitumen liquid reinforced with rubber, formulated from selected raw materials to form a high build elastomeric water proof and protective coating for concrete and masonry.

- Elastomeric will bridge minor cracks which may occur in concrete substrates.
- Resists attack by chloride and sulphate ions present in ground water.
- Single component.
- Applied by brush which make it easy to use.
- Economical.
- Solvent free, non flammable.
- Asbestos free.
- Rot resistant.
Bituproof 12 provides a water proofing and protective coating for:
- Retaining walls.
- Shaded or tiled roofs.
- Under ground concrete foundations.
- Wet floor areas such as bathrooms and kitchens.
- Where minor live cracks may occur in concrete substrates, Bituproof 12 will bridge such minor cracks.
- Basement walls.
- Concrete slabs.
- Bituproof 12 can be used as protective coating for normal, galvanized and carbon steel plates and pipes.
Coverage rate depends on surface roughness and the method of application.
- 3 - 5 m²/litre per coat, as protective coating.
- 1 - 1.5 m²/litre per coat, as waterproof coating giving a dry film thickness of 350 - 500 microns per coat. Two coats recommended.
Bituproof 12 is available in 18 and 200 litres drums.
Store away from direct sunlight, and protect from freezing.
Bituproof 12 has a shelf life of 12 months if stored in proper conditions.
- Bituproof 12 complies with ASTM D1227 Type II, Class 1.
- Bituproof 12 complies with ASTM C309 as a curing compound when applied with two coats at a rate of 4 m²/litre per coat.
